What Ceramic Pro is and who makes it

Ceramic Pro is a nano-ceramic coating brand made by Nanoshine Group Corp., which the company's own site gives as headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan and founded in 2010. It sells through distributors in over 80 countries with more than 5,000 approved installers worldwide.

The products' properties are certified by SGS Laboratories, and environmental safety is certified to the REACH (EC 1907/2006) standard. Ceramic Pro is not one product but a family of coatings for different surfaces, sold to consumers as packages — which is why people search for 'Ceramic Pro Gold' rather than for a chemical.

The packages explained

The classic packages are built from Ceramic Pro 9H applied to the paint. More layers means a longer warranty, and that is essentially what separates the tiers.

Alongside the paint packages sit surface-specific coatings with their own separate warranty periods — glass, wheels and calipers, leather and textile — plus Top Coat, Sport, Strong, Marine and Bravo. A quoted 'package' may bundle several of these, so ask which surfaces are actually included and which warranty attaches to each.

Durations as published in Ceramic Pro's Coating Aftercare & Warranty document. Every paint warranty requires annual inspections.

What ION changes

ION is the newer chemistry and it works differently. It is a two-component system: an ION Base Coat that provides the thickness and underlying protection, then an ION Top Coat that triggers the ion exchange reaction and delivers the hydrophobic, self-cleaning behaviour. Ceramic Pro is explicit that the base coat's performance is significantly reduced without the top coat, so a part-applied ION job is not ION.

Ceramic Pro publishes ION as exceeding 9H pencil hardness and resistant across pH 2–13, and states that a single layer of ION Base Coat delivers protection equivalent to two or more layers of 9H. The hydrophobic structure is described as pyramid-shaped, against the hair-like structure of 9H.

It is sold in two packages. The ION Package is one layer of ION Base plus one of ION Top Coat on paint, plastics and lights, with wheel and caliper coating and glass coating on the front three windows, under a seven-year warranty. The Ultimate ION Package uses two layers of ION Base plus one Top Coat and carries a lifetime warranty.

Warranty, honestly stated

The headline durations are real but conditional, and the conditions are where owners get caught. Every paint warranty requires an annual inspection by an approved applicator, carried out within 30 days before the anniversary of the last service, and a fee applies. Miss one and the cover does not vanish — it downgrades. Gold becomes a five-year warranty from the date of the last inspection, Silver becomes two years, Bronze becomes one.

The term starts from the date you register the warranty, not the date of application, and the initial application must be by a certified installer. Transfer to a new owner is possible, but only if that owner keeps up the annual service; fail to transfer through an annual service and cover drops to one year from the last service.

What it does not cover is the important part. The document excludes swirl marks, marring, scratches, scuffs, scrapes, chips and hard water spots, along with stone-chip impact damage, collision damage, and damage from automatic wash brushes or abrasive cloths. Cover applies to factory clear-coated paint only and excludes non-clear-coated and matte finishes. Workmanship faults such as high spots and streaks are also outside it.

One regional caveat worth raising with your installer: the published document is Ceramic Pro's Americas warranty, and it requires the vehicle to remain continuously registered in North America for the duration. A UAE buyer is covered on terms issued regionally, so ask for the document that applies to you before you pay.

Living with a coating in UAE heat

Ceramic Pro's aftercare rules read as though written for this climate, and following them is a warranty condition rather than a suggestion. The coating cures over two to three weeks depending on humidity and temperature, and the car should not be washed for at least the first two weeks. Water exposure during curing can leave spotting.

After that: wash in shade or a garage, never in direct sun and never on a panel warm to the touch — which through a Dubai summer rules out most of the day. Use pH-neutral soap, nothing below pH 5.0 or above 9.0, and no wax or sealant over the top. Ceramic Pro recommends washing every two weeks, a two-bucket hand wash at least every 60 days, and avoiding automatic brush washes entirely.

Bird droppings, sap and bug splatter need removing quickly. Ceramic Pro warns that if these sit on the coating in direct sunlight and heat, the contaminant may bond — which happens faster here than in a cooler market.

How to verify a genuine install

Initial application must be by a certified Ceramic Pro installer for any warranty to exist, and later repairs or reapplication must also go through a certified installer once the claim is approved. An uncertified shop using genuine product still leaves you with no cover. In Dubai the brand's regional site is operated by Kavaca & Ceramic Pro Auto Detailing Services LLC, based in Al Quoz Industrial Area.

Register the warranty, because the term runs from registration rather than application. Claims need the full 17-digit VIN plus photo or video evidence, and Ceramic Pro must be notified within 30 days of the problem occurring. Note too that vehicles over three months old normally require a machine polish by the approved applicator before coating — so a same-day job on an older car is a warning sign.

Ceramic Pro — common questions

What is the difference between Gold, Silver and Bronze?
Layers on the paint, and therefore warranty length. Gold is multiple layers of Ceramic Pro 9H with a warranty for the lifetime of the vehicle from the date of application. Silver is a layer of 9H at five years. Bronze is a layer of Ceramic Pro Top Coat at two years. All three require annual inspections to stay at their headline term.
Is the lifetime warranty genuinely for life?
As published, yes — but it is conditional. Ceramic Pro requires an annual inspection by an approved applicator within 30 days before the anniversary of the last service, and a fee applies. Miss an inspection and Gold converts to a five-year warranty running from the date of that last inspection.
Will a ceramic coating stop stone chips and scratches?
No, and Ceramic Pro's own warranty is explicit about it. Swirl marks, marring, scratches, scuffs, scrapes, chips and hard water spots are excluded, as is damage from impact with a foreign object such as a stone. Coating is a chemical and UV barrier that makes the car easier to clean. For impact protection you need paint protection film.
Can I take a coated car through an automatic car wash?
Not a brush wash. Ceramic Pro says to avoid automatic washes using brushes, mitts or anything that touches the surface, and damage caused by wash brushes or abrasive cloths is excluded from the warranty. Touchless washing is acceptable, but Ceramic Pro still recommends a two-bucket hand wash at least every 60 days.
How is ION different from 9H?
ION is a two-part system — a base coat then a top coat that triggers an ion exchange reaction. Ceramic Pro publishes it as exceeding 9H pencil hardness, resistant across pH 2–13, and states one layer of ION Base Coat gives protection equivalent to two or more layers of 9H. Both components must be applied; the base coat alone performs significantly worse.
Does the Ceramic Pro warranty apply in the UAE?
The warranty document Ceramic Pro publishes is its Americas version, and it requires the vehicle to remain continuously registered in North America. UAE buyers are covered under terms issued by the regional entity, so ask your installer for the warranty document that applies here, in writing, before booking. The brand is represented in Dubai by Kavaca & Ceramic Pro Auto Detailing Services LLC in Al Quoz Industrial Area.
