Gyeon ceramic coating in the UAE

Gyeon is a car care manufacturer whose ceramic coatings sit under the Q² label, alongside a Q²M maintenance range and its own paint protection film. Most of the current coatings carry an EVO suffix — Gyeon's newer generation, which it describes as more chemically resistant, longer lasting, capable of single-layer application and, relevant in this part of the world, friendlier to apply outdoors.

The unusual thing about Gyeon is how it publishes performance. Rather than leading with a warranty number, each coating page states a 'real world lifespan' in months and kilometres, plus a pH tolerance. That is more useful than a bare durability claim, because it concedes what every owner eventually finds out: a hard-driven car wears a coating out sooner than a garaged one.

Every coating in the table is rated by Gyeon at pH 2–11 tolerance. One-layer application is normal across the EVO range; where two figures are given for a single product, the higher one is what a second layer buys you, not a different coating.

Gyeon says it has more than 2,500 certified studios across over 100 countries. Certification matters because a handful of products are held back for it: Q² Infinite Base Type 1 and Type 2, the matching Infinite topcoats, Q² CanCoat Pro EVO and Q² Flash EVO are certified-detailer only. Everything else in the Q² range can be bought and applied by anyone.

Warranties follow the same split. Gyeon's registration portal offers three routes — a Certified Detailer Studio registering a Q² Infinite job, a Mobile Certified Detailer registering Q² Flash or Flash EVO, and a PPF installer. The studio route is the Infinite Warranty; the mobile route is a ten-year warranty. If you buy Mohs EVO or Syncro EVO and have it applied by an uncertified shop, you get the coating's stated lifespan and no warranty at all. That is a perfectly reasonable thing to buy — as long as nobody has told you otherwise.

Gyeon publishes the conditions that keep a warranty valid, and they are more demanding than most owners assume. A maintenance service with a certified detailer is required every 24 months or 25,000 km (15,000 miles). Between services you are expected to wash the car every 1,000 km or every two weeks, and to use a Gyeon maintenance product such as Q²M Bathe+, Q²M WetCoat or Q²M Cure at least once a month.

The list of things that invalidate the warranty includes automatic car washes, harsh chemicals within 14 days of application, leaving bird droppings and other contamination sitting on the paint, and attempting your own repairs. Gyeon also instructs you to wash and dry only when the car is cool and out of direct sunlight — which in the UAE realistically means early morning, after dark, or in a shaded bay, and rules out most of the day for most of the year.

Gyeon maintains a United Arab Emirates country page and points customers at an installer finder, which is the reliable way to confirm a studio is certified rather than simply stocking the product. If a warranty is part of the offer, ask which of the three it is, and ask to watch the registration go through — Gyeon registrations are made online in its own system, not written on your invoice.

Also check the coating suits the car. Q² Matte EVO is the one for matte and satin paint, PPF and vinyl, because it protects without adding gloss; a gloss coating will visibly change a satin finish. If the car already wears film, Gyeon makes a dedicated Q² PPF EVO for it.
